The Momentum Mission
1.To create a bridge for IDF soldiers for the transition from military service to civilian life
2. to help them understand that their military service was significant
3. empowering and promotes the soldier as an individual who sacrificed in order to strengthen Israeli society
Engaging in the future generation
The organization’s activity has a well-defined focus: assisting our young soldiers during their critical stage of transition from the period of military service to their future in Israeli society.
With this in mind, the organization’s activities combine preparing realistic path for the soldier, while helping to build a national vision looking to the future.
This vision deals with the future of the State of Israel, its prosperity and development for the benefit of its citizens with a focal point for the young members of the Jewish people in all spheres of life.
Consequently, dealing with the future of the younger generation
is a key and critical factor in shaping the future of the State of Israel.
It is with this vision that Momentum has positioned itself in the effort to target our young men and women, veterans of the IDF, in order to integrate them into the various fields of activity in Israel and to assist them with their first steps in choosing their path in life.
Why is there a need for organized and focused activity that was not required in the past?
Global changes that have taken place in the world of work and the economy have presented young people in all developed countries with a new challenge of paving their way to meaningful work, through which they can support a family.
For young Israelis who serve in the IDF from two to three years, the challenge is more difficult and complex, given the loss of years of service.
In addition, it is important for our veterans to conceptualize the unique power that they acquired during their years of service in the IDF and to incorporate these skills when discharged as they make their way towards their future.
Specifically, our activities are motivated in recognition of the ever-increasing difficulty in properly managing the transition phase between military service and civilian life.
The long period of backpacking, not unlike the phenomena of veterans wandering doing odd jobs, is a familiar expression of the difficulties involved in the transition period.
Momentum focuses on three efforts:
The third effort is to bring the subject to national public awareness, in a manner that will create a network of cooperation between government ministries and the other bodies involved in the issue.
The second deals with the actual interface with the soldiers in guided workshops by Momentum’s specially trained facilitators, providing skills, tools, encouragement and practical guidance.
The first deals with the study of the phenomenon, conceptualization and formulation of tools to assist the young discharged soldiers.
Identification and awareness
We believe that identifying the problem and bringing it to proper awareness is the first key step which will, hopefully, lead to making the changes required to deal with this challenge which, by its very nature, involves a variety of multidimensional areas.
